- 2 lb. beef chuck roast
- 2 medium onions, peeled and quartered
- 1 lb. carrots
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomatoes
- 2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. basil
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 5 potatoes, peeled and quartered
Directions

1Cube beef; saute in small amount of fat.

2Slice onions and saute in fat.

3Place beef, onions, carrots, tomatoes, basil, pepper and water into large covered pot.

4Bring to boil.

5Simmer 2 hours.

6Add potatoes the last 45 minutes.
