  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1/2 qt. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • nuts or raisins (optional)
