  • 5 slices day old bread
  • 2 Tbsp. butter (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten or Egg Beaters
  • 3 c. milk, scalded
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract

Directions

    Toast bread and spread with butter.

    Arrange toast in baking pan. Stir salt, sugar and cinnamon into eggs.

    Add milk and lemon extract to egg mixture and stir well.

    Pour over toast.

    Press toast down so it will soak up milk.

    Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold.
