- 2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. lard (shortening may be substituted)
- 1 c. buttermilk (add more if needed)
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Cut in the lard.

3Add buttermilk and stir until a soft dough is formed, then turn onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth.

4Roll out (1/2 inch thick for fluffy biscuits, 1/4 inch for crusty thin ones!!).

5Cut to size with a biscuit cutter or cup.

6Place on a greased pan. Bake at 450° for 13 to 15 minutes.
