- 2 (15 oz.) cans Italian style stewed tomatoes, chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3 c. white rice, cooked
- 8 oz. cottage cheese
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 large head cabbage
Directions

1Pour both cans stewed tomatoes in a bowl and chop until they are in small pieces.

2Place half of the tomatoes in a large bowl with ground beef, rice and cottage cheese.

3Mix and set aside. Add tomato sauce and tomato paste to remaining stewed tomatoes; stir until smooth.

4Core cabbage and steam in a large pot.

5Pull leaves off as they become soft.

6Lay leaves flat and spoon some meat mixture onto end of each one.

7Roll once; fold in sides, then roll.

8Spread a little tomato mixture in the bottom of a large pot.

9Layer cabbage rolls on top of sauce, adding some tomato mixture over each layer.

10Simmer over medium heat for 2 to 3 hours.
