- 1/4 head medium cabbage, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 medium Jalapeno, sliced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 4 large garlic cloves, finely diced or crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 large vegetarian bouillon cubes
- 6-8 cups water
- 2 handfuls dry beans, any variety, washed
- Salt and pepper to taste

11. Place all ingredients into a large stock pot.

33. Reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender (approximately 2 hours).
