Cheese Grits Casserole

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. hominy grits (do not use quick cooking)
- 6 c. boiling water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
- 3/4 c. milk
- 3/4 c. buttered bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
Directions

1In heavy saucepan, stir grits slowly into boiling water.

2Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3Allow grits to cool.

4Mix well with beaten eggs.

5In greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish, alternate layers of grits and cheese.

6Pour milk over top.

7Sprinkle with bread crumbs and paprika.

8Bake in preheated oven at 325° for about 30 minutes.

9Serves 6.
