Ingredients

  • 3 c. cooked chicken
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced and drained
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 2/3 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 8 oz. can crescent rolls
  • 2/3 c. Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c. slivered almonds
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 box chicken Rice-a-Roni, prepared as directed

Directions

    Mix together chicken, soup, water chestnuts, mushrooms, mayonnaise, onion, celery and sour cream.

    Line bottom of 8 x 13-inch baking dish with rice.

    Pour chicken mixture over top. Top with Crescent rolls like crust.

    Drizzle with butter, top with cheese and almonds.

    Bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
