  • 8 or 10 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 4 or 5 yellow onions, chopped fine
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped fine
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • dash of cayenne pepper

    Combine all ingredients and cook in heavy pan slowly (simmer) until thick.

    Makes about 2 pints.
