  • 1 3/4 c. Brazil nuts
  • 3 c. dates
  • 2 1/4 c. English walnuts
  • 1 bottle red maraschino cherries
  • 1 bottle green maraschino cherries
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • salt
  • 4 eggs, separated

Directions

    Combine nuts and dates; cover with sugar, cherries and green juice.

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

    Add beaten egg yolks and flour to nut and cherry mixture.
  4. 4
    Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350°.

    Yields 2 loaves.
