Ingredients

  • 6 c. rolled oats
  • 1/2 c. sunflower seeds or nuts
  • 1/2 c. coconut
  • 1/2 c. wheat germ
  • 1/2 c. powdered milk
  • 2/3 c. honey
  • 2/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. slivered almonds

Directions

    Place oats in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 10 minutes, stirring 2 to 3 times.

    Remove from oven and add sunflower seeds, coconut, wheat germ, powdered milk, cinnamon, slivered almonds.

    Place honey and vegetable oil in a pan on stove top and heat until hot but not boiling.

    Pour over dry mixture and stir until well coated.

    Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°, stirring every 3 to 5 minutes until uniformly golden brown.

    Let cool in pan undisturbed, then break into chunks.

    May add raisins, dates and dried apricots.

    Store in airtight container.
