- 14 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 4 gala apples or 4 fuji apples
- 4 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450.

2In a large bowl, combine sugar, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water.

3Halve apples and core using a spoon or melon baller.

4Toss apples in the sugar.

5Arrange apples, skin up in a baking dish then pour sugar over them.

6Tuck in cinnamon sticks and cover with foil.

7Bake until apples are easily pierced about 15-20 minutes.
