- 1 c. quick cream of wheat
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 to 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/3 to 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. cold Crisco
- buttermilk
Directions

1Combine cream of wheat, flour, salt, baking powder and salt; mix well.

2Add Crisco; mix well.

3Add enough buttermilk to make a thin-like mixture.

4Pour into a skillet or baking pan which has been greased with cold Crisco, sides and bottom and dusted with the dry mixture.

5Have pan or skillet cold when you grease it.

6Place in hot oven and bake at 475° for 15 to 20 minutes or when you think it is done.

7The bread will come out of pan or skillet as soon as you take it out of oven.

8It looks like and tastes like corn bread, only better, I think.
