- 1 (2 to 3 lb.) chuck roast
- 1 large onion
- 2 large potatoes
- 1 large turnip
- salt and pepper
- 1 beaten egg
- shortcrust pastry
Directions

1Peel onion; set in same pan as the meat and roast until fairly tender.

2Cut meat and onion up fine.

3Boil potatoes and turnip; dice.

4Mix with meat.

5Add salt and pepper.

6Roll out pastry fairly thin (1/4-inch).

7Cut into rounds the size of a saucer.

8Put meat mixture in the center of each round.

9Bring 2 opposite sides of pastry together in a join at the top and flute edges.

10Brush with beaten egg.

11Bake in hot 425° oven for 30 to 40 minutes.

12This mixture will make several dozen pasties.
