- garlic cloves, peeled
- fresh dill
- powdered alum
- pickling cucumbers
- white vinegar
- salt
Directions

1Prepare cucumbers as you like them:

2spears, slices, whole.

3In bottom of each quart jar, put one whole garlic clove, 1 sprig of fresh dill and 1/2 teaspoon of alum.

4Fill jar with cucumbers, packing tightly.

5Place one more garlic clove and 1 sprig of fresh dill on top of jar.

6Fill with prepared water*.

7Process by home canning method.

8Let set for 3 months before serving.
