Dried Fruit Cordial
4 ingredients
8 steps
Ingredients
- 1 lb. dried fruit (apricots, apples, peaches, pears, mango, etc.)
- 1 c. brandy
- 1 fifth dry white wine
- 2 c. sugar
Directions
-
1Mix wine, brandy and sugar in glass or ceramic container, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
-
2Add the dried fruit and cover tightly.
-
3Store in a cool, dry place for at least a month, preferably longer.
-
4Dried fruit will swell in the liquid, so widemouthed containers are necessary.
-
5Strain off the cordial and reserve the fruit for topping.
-
6Or you can give the combination of fruit and cordial together as a gift.
-
7This recipe is adaptable to any dried fruit, so don't be afraid to experiment.
-
8(Even prunes make a delicious cordial, but you may want to call it plum liqueur.)
