  • 4 eggs, beaten slightly
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 2/3 c. scalding hot milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix first 4 ingredients, then gradually add scalding milk and vanilla.

    Pour in pastry-lined pie pan and bake until a silver knife comes out clean.

    The center may still be soft, but will set later.

    Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, then at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

    (May bake at 350° for entire time.)
