- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 2/3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Beat egg yolks, stir in 1/2 cup sugar, salt and nutmeg; add milk. Pour into pie shell and bake at 450° for 15 minutes. Reduce to 300° and bake about 45 minutes more or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Top with meringue and bake until brown.
