- 1 c. dried figs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Pour boiling water over figs.

2Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Drain and dry.

3Sift all dry ingredients.

4Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

5Add eggs and beat well.

6Add flour mixture alternately with milk.

7Fold in chopped figs.

8Fill muffin tins 2/3 full.

9Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

10Makes 12 to 15.
