  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. Arm & Hammer soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (not self-rising)
  • shortening

Directions

    Mix into a bowl, buttermilk, soda, salt and baking powder. Stir until batter is smooth.

    Add flour and stir until batter is of a pancake batter consistency.

    Melt shortening in a pan and cook as you would pancakes, at a medium temperature.
