- 1/2 c. meal
- salt to taste
- 1/2 c. shortening or bacon grease
Directions

1Put grease in iron skillet; let it heat.

2Roll okra in meal with salt added.

3Shake off excess meal.

4Put battered okra into grease.

5Fry until brown.

6Turn off heat.

7Place skillet with okra in oven.

8Cook at 350° for 10 minutes.
