Ingredients

  • lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 c. thinly sliced green onions (include some tops)
  • 1 c. thinly sliced celery
  • 1 small can sliced water chestnuts
  • sliced fresh mushrooms (to cover)
  • sliced ripe olives
  • 10 oz. pkg. frozen green peas, rinsed in cold water
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pinch of garlic powder

Directions

    Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped hard-boiled egg and crisp bacon bits and decorate with sliced cherry tomatoes.

    For a main dish, you may add cooked chicken or ham.
