  • 1 1/2 c. corn meal
  • 1 c. corn
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. sharp cheese
  • 1 or 2 hot peppers, chopped
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1/2 large sweet pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped

Directions

    Mix all but cheese.

    Pour 1/2 batter into greased preheated skillet.

    Sprinkle cheese over top.

    Pour remaining batter on top of cheese.

    Cook at 375° for about 30 minutes.

    Makes 1 large black skillet full.
