  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 12 raw peeled shrimp (about 6 ounces), rinsed and patted dry
  • 5 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, all visible fat discarded, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 5 ounces boneless sirloin steak, all visible fat discarded, cut into 1-inch cubes

    In a large shallow glass dish, stir together the ingredients for your choice of marinade.

    Add the shrimp, chicken, and steak, turning to coat.

    Cover and refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, preheat the grill on medium high.

    Remove the shrimp, chicken, and steak from the marinade, letting any excess drip off.

    Discard the marinade.

    Thread the kebab ingredients alternately on four 10-inch metal skewers.

    Grill the kebabs for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through, the chicken is no longer pink in the center, and the steak is the desired doneness.
