- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 4 to 6 bay leaves

1Cook roast beef until very tender (3 to 4 hours).

2Remove fat and pull apart into bite sized pieces.

3Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 3 to 10 hours and add salt and pepper to taste.
