- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 cup wheat flour unsifted
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour unsifted
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup dried fruits
- 1/4 cup walnuts
- 1 apple cored and diced
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 2 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a 9 inch square pan with oiled waxed paper and set aside.

2In a bowl, mix both the flour, sugar, oats with salt, soda and cinnamon powder. Add the buttermilk, applesauce and oil, and give it a quick whisk. Add the dried fruits and nuts and pour into the prepared pan.

3Bake for 25 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean when inserted in the center.

4Cool and cut into 12 squares.
