Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 c. torula yeast powder
  • 3/4 c. cooked rice or bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1 large, chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. soy milk powder (optional)

Directions

    Cover oats and soy sauce with boiling water; cool.

    Add all rest and mix well.

    Form into burgers and bake, browning both sides, in 350° oven.

    Serve on buns or in gravy.

    Can be browned in skillet first, then put in a casserole in oven and baked with 2 cans mushroom soup, diluted with 1 to 1 1/2 cups milk.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes, until mushroom soup begins to bubble. Serves 4 to 6.
