Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- coarse salt or sesame seed
- 3/4 c. warm water
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 2 c. flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Soften yeast in water.

3Add salt and sugar.

4Mix in flour and knead into a smooth dough.

5Work fast. Do not allow mixture to rise.

6Dust rolling pin and surface lightly with flour.

7Roll dough to desired thickness and cut into strips.

8Roll strips between palms of hands until desired length. Lay on greased baking sheet and shape into pretzel.

9Brush with egg and sprinkle with salt or sesame seed.

10Bake until golden, 15 minutes.

11Makes 8 to 10.

12Great with cheese sauce or sweet mustard.
