Pears In White Wine

- 8 firm ripe pears
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 c. dry white wine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Wash pears.

2Pare and core from blossom end but leave steam intact.

3Brush with lemon juice.

4Combine wine and sugar in large saucepan.

5Bring to boiling, stirring.

6Bring until sugar dissolves.

7Lower heat; add pears.

8Cover.

9Simmer 10 minutes or until tender but still firm.

10Let pears cool in syrup. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

11Drain pears.
