- 1 c. dry ground split peas
- water
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp. cumin powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp. curry powder
- 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
- oil for deep frying
Directions

1Mix ground peas and just enough water to form a thick batter. Add all ingredients and beat well, until light and fluffy.

2Heat oil to 365° (185° C).

3Form the pea mixture, a tablespoonful at a time, into balls.

4Drop into hot oil.

5Fry until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

6Delicious served with mango chutney.
