  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/4 lb. or 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. cake flour (plain Swans Down)
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Margarine and Crisco should be room temperature. Combine sugar, margarine and Crisco until creamy. Add eggs 1 at a time. Add cake flour, baking powder and buttermilk. Beat mixture until fluffy. Pour into a greased tube cake pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
