- 1 cup seedless raisin
- 13 cup shortening
- 23 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 4 tablespoons molasses
- 1 egg
- 12 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 34 cup quick-cooking oats
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon baking soda
Directions

1Rinse the raisins; set aside.

2Melt the shortening in a small saucepan and add the molasses.

3Add egg and beat to blend thoroughly.

4Sift together flour, salt and baking soda.

5Add the flour mixture, oats and the raisins to the first mixture, and mix well.

6Turn it all into a lightly greased 8x8-inch pan.

7Bake at moderate heat (350F) for about 25 minutes (you will see the appearance change as they are about ready).

8Cool and enjoy!
