  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 5 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Combine in a bowl, flour, salt, baking powder, soda and sugar.

    Cut in shortening, buttermilk and yeast water to dry ingredients.

    Mix well.

    Store in half gallon container in refrigerator.

    Use as needed for hot rolls.

    Bake at 400°.
