Rolled Wheat Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. quick oats
  • 1 1/3 c. hot water
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 unbeaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Pour hot water over rolled wheat and let stand.

    Cream sugar and shortening.
  3. 3
    Add eggs, flour, soda and cinnamon.

    Mix and then add rolled wheat.

    Bake 40 minutes or until done at 350°.

    This will make a 19 x 13-inch cake.

    (I use a 9 1/2 x 13-inch pan.) Serve with Butterscotch Sauce.
