- 1 cup root beer
- 3 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 (3 ounce) envelope liquid pectin
Directions

1Combine all ingredients except pectin.

2Heat to boiling stirring to dissolve sugar.

3Add pectin.

4Stir constantly to bring to a boil and boil hard for 30 seconds.

5Ladle into clean hot jars and process for 5 minutes in a boiling water bath canner.

6*Note-this came out of a 1935 cookbook and there was no processing time-just seal.

7Go with the 5 minutes folks.

8Also, you can use cola or cream soda if you like-they work best. Maybe even Dr. Pepper!
