Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber, sliced and salted
  • 2 heads lettuce, shredded
  • 2 bunches green onions, cut up
  • 1 can French-style green beans, cut up
  • 1 c. celery slivers, cooked 10 minutes and cooled
  • 1 can artichoke hearts, cut up
  • 2 avocados, sliced
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 can anchovies
  • 1 c. Swiss cheese slivers
  • 1 c. slivered cold meat (preferably ham, tongue or chicken)

Directions

    In a large bowl, marinate with French dressing the lettuce, onions and green beans.

    Alternate layers of other ingredients, reserving 1 egg to be sliced for decorating top.

    Pour over entire salad 1 cup Thousand Island dressing or 1 cup caviar dressing (mayonnaise and 1 jar caviar).

    Marinate lightly.

    Serve immediately.
