  • 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 2 c. self-rising cornmeal
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder (optional)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk

Directions

    Cook sausage and crumble.

    Drain off excess grease and place in the bottom of a greased baking pan.

    Mix remaining ingredients together well.

    Pour over sausage and bake in a 425° oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
