Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Owens sausage
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1 can chicken noodle soup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 small can mushroom pieces
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2/3 c. raw rice
  • 1 c. boiling water

Directions

    Brown sausage. Drain most of the drippings. Saute onion and celery in drippings.

    Add water chestnuts, soup, rice and 1 cup of water. Season. Add mushroom pieces and sausage. Mix well. Add 1 cup boiling water. Grease a casserole. Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour.
