  • 2 lb. pork sausage
  • 1 c. finely chopped green pepper
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 2 1/2 c. coarsely chopped celery
  • 2 pkg. (1 3/4 oz.) chicken noodle soup mix
  • 4 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. rice, uncooked
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. slivered almonds

Directions

    Brown sausage in large skillet; pour off excess fat.

    Add green pepper, onion and celery; saute.

    Combine soup mix and boiling water in large saucepan; stir in rice.

    Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender.

    Add sausage mixture, salt and almonds; stir well.

    Pour into greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.

    Bake in moderate oven at 375° for 20 minutes.
