Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 oz. cold unsalted butter
- 1 c. raisins
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground nutmeg and salt and mix well.

2Cube unsalted butter and work in with fingers until pea-sized pieces form.

3Stir in raisins and sugar.

4Whisk together egg yolk and buttermilk and stir into mixture.

5Turn out dough onto floured surface and knead 10 to 12 times.

6Cut in half and pat each half into a 6-inch circle, slice circle into 6 wedges.

7Transfer wedges in a circle to ungreased baking sheet.

8Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 18 to 22 minutes until lightly browned.
