Ingredients

  • 1 lb. shrimp
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped parsley
  • 1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 4 small cloves garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 2 bay leaves

Directions

    Cut large shrimp in half.

    Blend flour into oil and brown, stirring constantly.

    Add water gradually and cook until thick, smooth and shining.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

    Add shrimp.

    Cook 5 more minutes.

    Serve over rice.
