Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound grnd sirloin (or possibly other very lean beef)
  • 1/4 c. pearl barley
  • 1 (14 1/2 or possibly 16 ounce.) can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 garlic buds, pressed (or possibly 1/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr)
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 2/3 c. minced carrots
  • 1/2 green pepper, minced fine
  • Salt and pepper

Directions

    Brown meat, add in other ingredients, simmer for 30 min.

    Turn off heat and add in 4 ounce.

    cut-up Velveeta cheese.

    Stir to heat and serve.

    Reheats well next day.
