Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- 2 quarts soft water
- 2 cups split peas
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 large carrot, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 14 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1 pinch on cayenne pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Combine all ingredients in pot.

2Bring to boil.

3Boil hard for 20 minutes.

4Then simmer until peas are tender (at least 3 hours)

5Strain fine sieve or blend removing bay leaf.

6Then reheat to almost boiling.
