Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 c. green split peas, washed and sorted
  • 3 qt. water
  • parsley, dill, oregano and bay leaves to taste
  • 1/4 to 1 c. carrots
  • 1/4 to 1 c. celery
  • 1/4 to 1 c. cabbage
  • 1/4 to 1 c. onion
  • canned or fresh corn
  • 2 cubes beef or chicken bouillon
  • 1 jar Gerber 2nd or 3rd foods (chicken or beef)

Directions

    Heat water, peas and spices to boiling.

    Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours until peas are soft.

    Add vegetables and simmer until tender (may need to add more water).

    Add bouillon and jarred meat.

    Heat and serve.
