Ingredients

  • 1 qt. squash
  • 1/2 c. onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. cracker crumbs
  • 1 c. grated cheese (Cheddar or Colby)
  • 1 tsp. salt for water
  • black pepper to taste

Directions

    Cook squash and half of onion in salted water until tender. Drain and mash.

    Add margarine first (to melt).

    Add rest of ingredients, with cheese last.

    Pour in small casserole.

    Bake at 400° until starts to brown.
