Squash Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. squash
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 stick melted margarine
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 c. grated cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. pepper

    Cook squash and onion.

    Drain.

    Beat eggs.

    Add remaining ingredients, except bread crumbs and cheese.

    In buttered 2-quart casserole, layer bread crumbs, squash and cheese.

    Repeat and top with remaining bread crumbs.

    Dot with margarine.

    Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes.
