Stuffed Cabbage

Ingredients
- 1 medium head cabbage
- 1 c. ground ham (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. cooking fat
- 1 c. cracker crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. melted oleo
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onions
- 1 egg, well beaten
- salt and pepper
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Soak cabbage in cold salt water for 1 hour.

2Boil in sufficient salt water to cover until almost tender.

3Drain. Remove center, leaving 2 layers of leaves.

4Shred the portion of cabbage which was removed.

5Add ham, crumbs, onions, parsley, egg, cooking fat and salt and pepper.

6Pack lightly into cabbage shell. Tie leaves tightly to hold the stuffing in place.

7Place in roaster.

8Baste with oleo which has been combined with 1 cup water.

9Bake in slow oven (350°) for about 35 minutes.

10Makes 6 servings.
