Stuffed Fresh Ham

- 1 fresh (13 to 18 lb.) ham with a pocket for stuffing
- 4 to 16 links Italian sausage
Directions

1Put ham into a roasting pan and surround with water.

2Cook in a 400° oven for about 2 hours.

3Remove.

4Strip sausage meat from casings and stuff pocket of ham with sausage meat.

5Add more water to pan, if needed.

6Return to oven until ham is cooked, about 1 hour longer or until meat is no longer pink.

7When ham is done, drain off juice from pan and put into a can or pot.

8Place in refrigerator for 1/2 hour.

9Remove the fat that has risen to the top.

10Use juice to make pork gravy.
