Sugar And Eggless Fruit Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle cherries
  • 1 pkg. mincemeat
  • 2 c. nut meats
  • 1 lb. marshmallows
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 1 lb. graham crackers
  • 1 tall can Pet milk
  • 1/4 lb. citron (optional)
  • 1/4 lb. orange peel (optional)

    Crush graham crackers.

    Put milk in top of double boiler; add marshmallows and heat until marshmallows are melted.

    Drain cherries; cut in halves and add all the fruit and nuts to the crushed crackers.

    Pour the milk and marshmallow mixture over the cracker mixture.

    This is really an icebox cake but I baked mine one hour in a slow oven (250°) as it gives the nut meats a toasted flavor.

    Be sure to mix well and bake in a greased, paper lined loaf pan.
