- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 can pinto beans
- 1 pkg. taco seasoning
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 bag taco chips, crushed
- 1/2 head lettuce
- 1 medium tomato
- Ortega taco sauce
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Brown ground beef and onion in large skillet.

3Drain grease.

4Stir in water and seasoning mix.

5Mash pinto beans; pour into hamburger mixture.

6Simmer 10 minutes. Layer taco chips in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

7Pour hamburger mixture over crushed taco chips.

8Top with cheese.

9Bake 10 minutes or until cheese melts.

10Cool 5 minutes.

11Top each serving with diced lettuce and tomato.

12Top with taco sauce if desired.
